Impartial advice and guidance
Simon has experienced the full range of highs and lows in education and early years settings, and, as such, is able to provide advice and guidance on a bespoke basis for anyone facing a challenge who requires impartial counsel. Simon will look at the facts of a situation and provide a clear assessment of what is required. Sometimes this will lead to mediation, further investigation or support for formal processes.
School or Trust evaluation
Drawing upon his experience, both as an Ofsted Inspector and then as one of Her Majesty’s Inspectors, Simon is able to assess, against regulatory frameworks how well an organisation is doing and what else it could do to be even better.
Section 48 (including SIAMs) readiness.
As the frameworks for inspecting the distinctiveness of denominational schools ramp up, the trustees of such schools need surety that each organisation is ready to meet the requirements of each evaluation schedule. Simon is able to assess quickly readiness and apply his background in formal theological activity to judging e.g. ‘Christian distinctiveness’.
Desk-based analysis
Years of reading, reviewing and editing reports of different sorts as well as the normal workload of an academic, have enabled Simon to get a grasp on policy documents, handbooks, regulatory frameworks, articles of association and schemes of delegation etc. He is willing to ‘ghost write’ materials that would be time-consuming in your context.
Brokerage
Simon has an extensive contacts section of his web presence. He is often asked, ‘do you know anyone who can help with…?’ The chances are he will know someone. Why not ask?: info@simonhughes.info
